Small and furred and black and white,

An innocent delight

To me, this little being is

Much more than merely just a cat.

She mirrors in an abstract way

The love of God, who thought of this

Impulsive toy to have to play

With for eternity and let

Me share His joy. For curled up at

My feet, she stays so trustfully

That I can see how we must be

As small, as helpless, as in need

Of all He has to give, so that,

Dependent on His will, we plead

Our hopeful littleness, and He

Sees us as touching as this cat

And gives us for eternity

His love, including Rosalie.
